We cannot and do not intend to hide it: the skin, the largest organ of the human body, is not immune to the passage of time. We cannot stop it, but we can handle it in a better way and to do so, what better way than knowing the most frequent signs of aging.
The first to comment on is dull skin, the notoriety of which can be reduced with a good cosmetic routine that includes effective cleansing, weekly exfoliation, antioxidant active ingredients and retinoids. On the other hand, there is a wide variety of aesthetic dermatology techniques that can improve it more dramatically, followed by a cosmetic regimen so that this improvement is long-term.
Continuing with expression wrinkles, which are formed by repetitive movements of the facial muscles, the only way to improve them is by relaxing the muscles. This is why cosmetics have little to say about these wrinkles, since they can only act on the skin, never on the muscle level.
We continue with the fine lines. These arise due to exposure to UV rays and pollution, which cause the collagen and elastin in the skin to be damaged, causing the skin to gradually lose its firmness and elasticity. To deal with them, cosmetics provide products with antioxidants and retinol, although there are also fractionated lasers such as the CORE or the TIXEL laser.
The next is the nasolabial fold, which occurs due to displacements of facial fat that yield to the effects of gravity over time. Cosmetics are not effective here either because they do not replace that lack of fat.
Lastly (for now), we will talk about brown spots. Depending on the type of stain, it is treated with a laser or a combination of these and cosmetic products. Cosmetics can lighten spots a little and unify the tone, but they cannot resolve them without the help of aesthetic dermatology techniques. They are essential to maintain uniform skin tone in the long term.
